Hazardous Materials Awareness & HM126f Certification for Propane Distributors*
Saturday, April 18 | 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
NPGA is pleased to present the new hazardous materials awareness certification course. This training provides propane distributors with essential knowledge and certification under HM126f requirements. Participants will gain an understanding of hazardous materials awareness, safe propane handling, and transportation compliance standards. The session emphasizes regulatory responsibilities, risk reduction, and practical safety procedures to ensure distributors operate with confidence, professionalism, and full compliance.
Propane distributors require employees to have Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Awareness and HM126f certification to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The DOT requires this training for anyone involved in the transportation of propane, including drivers, those preparing shipping papers, and personnel involved in packaging, labeling, or loading. The training must be completed within 90 days of employment, with recurrent training required every three years, and covers general awareness, function-specific duties, safety, and security.
The session will be led by:
- Tom Mullaney, Vice President of Risk Engineering, Aegis General Energy
- Mike Tanner, Field Supervisor, Aegis General Energy
