30 Under 30 Program
The 30 Under 30 program was implemented under Young Gassers in conjunction with NPGA and CPA in 2020. This is an industry program that focuses on recognizing 30 individuals under the age of 30 that have shown great potential within the Propane Industry. The 30 individuals that are chosen for the program receive perks such as free registration to certain industry events, individual membership to NPGA and Young Gassers for their year in the program.
Nominations for the program will typically open in December or January and close 6-8 weeks prior to the NPGA Expo. Requirements for the program are:
- Must be between 18 and 29 years old when the nominations open
- Must work for a company involved in the propane industry
- Must be nominated by someone within the industry (self-nominations are not permitted)

Class of 2020
Megan Barlow, Evergreen Propane
Megan started working at Heritage Propane in 2008 after graduating high school at eighteen years old. Her family has been in the propane industry for over 50 years; and in 2012, they opened Evergreen Propane. Megan has worked in a number of positions including back office, Human Resources, and CSR support. She works alongside her husband, Matt Barlow, who is a division manager for Evergreen Propane. Together they have three boys: Jace, Grayson, and Hudson.
Trae Boese, Global Gas
Trae was first introduced to the propane industry as a teenager when he worked in the yard painting and power washing tanks during the summer at a retail location in Kansas. While he didn’t know it at the time, this would be the first stepping stone towards a career in the propane industry. During his senior year of college, Trae interned with Global Gas. These experiences would make a natural fit for him when he rejoined Global Gas shortly after finishing college.
Trae attended Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS where he played football and earned his Bachelor of Arts in both Accounting and Business Administration. Trae has been with Global Gas for 3 years, starting in their accounting department and is now currently the Northeast Sales Representative.
While in college, Trae worked as a server and bartender at Applebee’s for two years where he gained valuable customer relations experience. Through the success of football and working at Applebee’s, Trae learned the value of hard work.
The opportunity to learn and build relationships is what Trae enjoys the most about being in the propane industry.
Trae’s hobbies include weight lifting, attending sporting events and concerts.
Barrett Conway, Cetane Associates
Barrett joined the Cetane Associates’ Bethesda, Maryland office as an analyst in January 2020. He provides analytical support to the firm’s deal execution team helping clients with the sale of their energy businesses. Prior to joining Cetane, Barrett worked five years as an associate in the wealth management area of HighTower Advisors in Houston.
Outside of work, Barrett has been involved in various organizations in Houston including Young Professionals in Finance, Yes Prep, and CHARM Ministries. After recently moving with his wife, he plans to get involved in various organizations in the Washington DC area. Barrett holds a BBA finance degree from Texas A&M University in College Station.
Nathan M. DeBerdine, Dead River Company
Nate began working at his family’s energy company located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at the age of 16. As he continued to work part-time through college over breaks, he gained field knowledge and experience in energy product sales.
Upon graduating from Susquehanna University in May 2019, Nate accepted a position at Dead River Company based out of Portland, Maine. Starting as a Manager Trainee, he was in an operations rotational program that lasted just shy of six months.
Most recently in October 2019, Nate accepted a permanent position with the company as an Administrative Service Manager at one of Dead River Company’s markets located in Auburn, Maine.
Tanner DeWitt, Ed Staub & Sons Petro
Tanner has been around the propane business his whole life. He is the third-generation, first starting in grade school painting and refurbing tanks and helping count inventory as summer jobs. Tanner went to college in northern California, and started working for Ed Staub and Sons Propane thereafter. He has had experience in a number of jobs including filling tanks, helping at the counter, building cardlocks across Oregon and California for gas and diesel, bulking oil, building storages, and driving. Tanner has worked his way up in the company until 2015, where he has been a technician ever since and is now training new technicians on troubleshooting and safety.
Tanner lives in Nampo, Idaho with his wife Karen, and two daughters. He has a strong desire to become a positive influence on the propane industry as he grows into leadership.
Austin Dodge, Woodfin Heating Inc.
Austin is the current Operations Manager for Woodfin Propane Inc. located in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 with a degree in Finance, Austin started his career at Woodfin Propane, a local petroleum company in Richmond where he assumed a number of job functions from bobtail driving, to overseeing operations at company owned convenient stores, to maintenance on the company fleet of heating oil and propane delivery vehicles. In his three years in the propane industry, he has helped drive Woodfin from a start up to a solid player in the central Virginia LP market. Daily job functions include regulatory compliance, permitting, scheduling, inventory, and installing LP systems.
His goal for the immediate future is to continue to foster growth within the propane market while maintaining outstanding customer relations and compliance within the industry.
Scott Doughtery, Superior Energy Systems
Scott has been with Superior Energy Systems for seven years; beginning his career with SES while still in high school, initially hired on to sell 20 to 100-pound cylinders. As his industry knowledge and education base grew, he was promoted to draftsman and now works as a sales engineer. Scott takes the lead on multiple sales opportunities, and simultaneously and works directly with customers to ensure success. He is dedicated to advancing his career in the industry and is currently working on his senior project, which includes new computer-based programming for midstream terminal operations.
Scott enjoys working in various facets of the NGL industry including midstream, industrial and autogas. Some of his accomplishments at SES include: leading the CSA/UL, Measurement Canada and NTEP processes for certifying SES’ full autogas dispenser line, coordinating large autogas infrastructure plans for fleets including Nestle and numerous school districts, and initiating 3D, CAD modeling techniques for more advanced design drawings for midstream and autogas installations.
Prior to college, Scott achieved Eagle Scout status with the Boy Scouts of America. Scott will graduate from Cleveland State University in May 2020 with a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and continue his career with SES. Scott enjoys biking and outdoor sports and spending time with his family and friends.
Krista Filious, John Rosbough Trucking
Growing up with a father who was a truck driver, Krista understands the importance of hard work better than anyone, and has shown just that throughout her career. During high school and after graduation, Krista worked for Bob Evans. A few years later, Krista worked her way up and began working as an Account Clerk for the Village of Lodi before moving on to Westfield Insurance and finally John Rosbough Trucking. She has been with John Rosbough Trucking, LLC for two years as their Administrative Services Manager, ensuring everything in the office runs smoothly.
Krista has a love of traveling and hiking, and enjoys time spent with family and friends including her two dogs and Firefighter/EMT husband of seven years.
Ashton Fuller, Webster & Garner
Since the age of sixteen, Ashton has worked in her family’s business, working her way up to the Northern Michigan Regional Manager. At 19 years old, she moved to a different town to take on the challenge of opening a new branch. Hard work, good teammates, and a father who took the time to mentor her blossomed the branch into the success that it is today. Learning the business and helping others succeed in life and in the workplace has been her passion. Being a female in a male dominated industry has its own set of challenges, but she has had rewarding lessons learned throughout the years. In the years to come, she looks forward to learning and improving the industry.
Raleigh Garrett, G&S Gas Service, Inc.
Raleigh is the Vice President of G&S Gas Service Inc. in Milledgeville, Georgia. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Finance, Raleigh joined G&S Gas after working as a traveling consultant for a year. He’s been with G&S Gas for seven years and is a third-generation member of the family business. Raleigh currently lives in Athens, GA with his wife Anna Lynn.
Monika Goss, RN Goss Gas Products
Monika earned her master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and had an exciting career managing a neural engineering research laboratory, but knew she always wanted to return as fourth-generation to her family’s business in industrial gasses, propane, and welding supplies. She started as Purchasing and Inventory Manager in the spring of 2018 before taking on the responsibilities of Assistant General Manager in 2019. Monika enjoys working with her father, third-generation, Dave Goss, and having the opportunity to be a part of the next chapter at RN Goss Gas Products, Provanta, Inc., and RenovEx, Inc. Monika is excited for the future of the companies, which includes projects such as converting the entire delivery fleet to propane powered vehicles.
In her free time, Monika loves to backpack, bake, and travel.
Daniel Guglielmo, Paraco Gas Corporation
Daniel started working at Paraco when he was sixteen during summer breaks at the Mt. Vernon, New York facility, and quickly fell in love with the fast-paced work environment. He has worked his way from yard maintenance, to the loading docks, and eventually earned his CDL and hazmat endorsement, delivering cylinders.
After graduating college, Daniel started as the Workforce Manager for Paraco’s Customer Experience Department. Two years later, he is enjoying working at an efficient, customer centric operation that is always looking to improve. In addition to his full time career, he is also going to graduate school with a concentration in Information Systems, so he can add value to the team. He feels very fortunate to spent ten wonderful years with a great company, and looks forward to a long career.
Travis Hagen, ERAC
Travis started in the propane industry as a tank truck repair technician at 18 years old at National Energy Equipment, conducting inspections under the B620 regulation while performing repairs, modifications and fabrication of tank trucks. Four years later, Travis moved to Euroway Industrial Services where he was a welder, fabricator and tank truck technician, as well as Team Lead of the Dangerous Goods Response team. After five years at Euroway, Travis worked as a Dangerous Goods Officer, and then as a Home Base Coordinator and Technical Advisor for CN Rail and then Emergency Response Assistance Canada, respectively.
Within Travis’ tenure, he has completed inspections, repairs and fabrications on hundreds of LPG tank trucks, as well as responded to over 50 LPG rail incidents, over 80 LPG tank truck incidents, and over 30 stationary tank incidents involving transfers, repairs, leak mitigation and fire suppression.
James Hajek, Christensen Inc.
James got his start in the propane industry upon graduation from Central Washington University in 2013. He began working for Christensen Inc. in Seattle, Washington where he was the Propane Department Manager for a newly formed propane division at that facility. In 2016, he moved to Pasco, Washington to work as a Propane Operations Manager in Christensen’s Pasco facility.
After moving to Pasco, James began getting involved with NPGA’s Benchmarking Council which he believes has helped him learn and develop his skills in managing a propane division. James enjoys working with others in the industry especially from other parts of the country because it gives him insight into different ways to accomplish the same goals. James’ latest work has been focused on building a new propane rail terminal which should be finished in 2020.
Recently, James has become a volunteer firefighter and will also be completing classes to become a certified EMT as he continues to look for ways to serve his community. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his black lab duck hunting in the winter, fishing on the Columbia River with his wife, Keely, or spending time in the vegetable garden during the summer months.
Colton Hayes, Westmor Industries
Colton started as a welder in the propane industry almost six years ago at the age of twenty-one.
Colton started welding in high school; and once he graduated, went to Tulsa Welding School. After welding in different fields, he started as a welder at Westmor Industries and quickly realized he wanted to learn more about the industry and turn it into a lifelong career. Colton has since built new propane trucks as an assembler, became a certified code welder, repair technician, registered DOT inspector, and a state licensed meter calibration technician.
Colton enjoys the propane industry because there is a new challenge with something to be learned every day. He finds that the industry is full of opportunity and growth and a great career path for him.
In his free time, Colton likes to spend time with his family outdoors, ride his Harley, and watch football (Go Chiefs!).
Meranda Hormann, Westmor Industries
Starting with Westmor Industries at only sixteen years old, Meranda Hormann has been with Westmor for over a decade. Meranda grew up around the industry as her father has worked at Westmor for over 30 years and is involved in the industry in many ways. Wanting to follow in her father's footsteps, she aspired to be in the propane industry and part of the Westmor team.
Meranda started at Westmor mowing lawns and doing yard work around the facility. She had an interest in engineering throughout high school and had the opportunity to intern in Westmor's Engineering Department while in college.
After graduating high school, Meranda continued to work part-time for Westmor as she attended North Dakota State University, earning her Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Meranda has now been a full time Design Engineer with Westmor for over four years. She enjoys the challenge of creating new, innovative designs and working with production employees to bring those new units and concepts to the industry.
Being born and raised in Minnesota, Meranda enjoys summers on the lake with her husband, Drew, and their dog, Tazz.
Kendall Hostler, Central Valley Ag
Kendall was raised on a central Nebraska farm and graduated from Fort Hays State University. After graduation, she moved to Beloit, Kansas where she worked as an Energy Customer Service Specialist at Farmway Co-op, Inc. Her duties included, but were not limited to, propane contract development and implementation, wholesale and commercial refined fuels and propane bidding, customer service, receiving, and invoicing of all energy-related products and services.
Today Kendall is the Business Support Specialist for the Energy Division at Central Valley Ag. In her new role, she is crucial in development and data services for the energy operating system. Kendall trains location personnel in three states and is a member of the CVA Energy Leadership Team. Kendall is also the Mitchell County fair board secretary and assistant coach of the Beloit High School Trap Team. She has a two-year-old daughter, Landri, that keeps her busy and on her toes.
Daniel Libralato, Anova
Daniel is the U.S. Customer Success Analyst at Anova, the global leader in remote monitoring solutions. Holding a key customer-facing position, he is critical to ensuring customers are maximizing the value of their investment pre, during and post-sale, leveraging his background in data analytics and engineering. Daniel provides end-to-end training on Transform, an industry-leading proprietary analytics software, to improve operational efficiencies and ultimately, the end-value to every customer. With nearly five years within the Anova/Gaslog family, he has become the visionary behind internal training and webinars to ensure Anova remains an influencer in the LPG industry where innovation, transformation and responsiveness are the foundational pillars to every customer engagement.
Daniel Montero, Warm Thoughts Communication
As a current Account Manager at Warm Thoughts Communications in Clifton, New Jersey, Dan is an online and direct marketing expert who has advised dozens of energy services companies on improving their web presence, search capabilities, direct response advertising and return on investment. He has launched and managed dozens of websites, SEO/SEM and broad-based advertising campaigns across the industry. He puts a dedicated focus on building strong client relationships, and always makes sure to bring his sense of humor to the table.
When away from his desk, Dan is a devoted globe-trotter having visited over 43 countries to date, and is always looking forward to which stamp will be the next in his passport.
Clay Navarette, Tri-Co Propane
Clay is a service technician for Tri-Co Propane, Inc. in Rogers, Texas. He grew up in Florence, Texas and graduated from Florence High School. In high school he played football and baseball and was honored with second team all-district in both sports. He was awarded the Fighting Heart Award his senior year in recognition for his leadership skills and compassion for others.
Clay came to Tri-Co Propane when he was nineteen years old. He has worked his way to Lead Service Technician and trains all new employees in service work. He is a dedicated, hardworking leader in the company.
Clay spends time at the beach, playing softball on different leagues, and raising a son.
Brad Plissey, JaySan Gas Service, Inc.
Brad is the fourth-generation family member working in the propane industry and is proud to continue in the tradition. Brad started working at JaySan Gas at the age of sixteen as an Autogas Fleet Maintenance Mechanic while enrolled in a local vocational technical high school. Upon graduation, Brad chose to enter the propane trade as an alternative to a college degree. He learned other roles within the industry including tank maintenance, tank setting, gas fitting, appliance service, and propane delivery becoming a versatile member of the JaySan team. Brad is currently an apprentice to a Master Gasfitter and received his intrastate Class A CDL with all endorsements at the age of nineteen. Most days he drives a bobtail delivering to residential, commercial and agricultural locations and is transitioning to replace a retiring long-term Class A transport driver.
Beyond work, Brad is an on-call member of his hometown fire department with his Firefighter 1 and 2 Certifications, is in process for his EMT license, as well as completed the propane emergency response training through PGANE and the Massachusetts Fire Academy. Brad lives in his hometown of Freetown, Massachusetts with his dog, Jesse James, a Belgian Malinois.
Daniel Quiroga, Metsa Tanks
Daniel has been working for Metsa Tanks for five years. He started as a Sales Agent with shared responsibilities in logistics; and has been promoted to Sales Manager, while building a team worthy and passionate for the LP Gas Industry.
Since joining Metsa, Daniel has more than doubled sales for the company and grown the brand internationally. He is looking forward to continuing working with Metsa and accomplishing his, and the company’s goals, as a whole. He believes getting to know gassers and turning them into happy customers is the most gratifying feeling.
Daniel graduated in 2014 from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is planning on studying for a MBA in the near future.
Cody Reeves, RegO
Cody entered the propane industry over twelve years ago as an apprentice under a work study program with a propane marketer. He obtained his journeyman license to work on gas systems in the state of Connecticut at the Mitchell Oil Company shortly thereafter. Cody continued to pursue and obtain his contractor’s license for the state of Connecticut at Durkin Propane. During his time at Durkin Propane, he assisted the startup of a new propane retailer where they encouraged safety and training. It didn’t take long for Cody to discover his passion for creating a safety culture. Cody then began working for a major marketer, Superior Plus Propane, where he encountered a team of safety professionals that had encouraged the need for training professionals in the industry. Cody, his wife, and four children, have since relocated to North Carolina after he transitioned to the Technical Services Specialist role at RegO in 2019. Since then, Cody has facilitated both regulator and distributor training for over 400 people across the United States.
When not supporting RegO Marketing and training efforts, you’ll find Cody playing at the park with his wife and kids.
Dustin Rose, Wendt’s Propane and Oil
Dustin entered into the propane industry in 2015 as a Bulk Delivery Driver with Wendt's Propane and Oil in Sanborn, New York. During the slow season, Dustin spent a lot of time cross-training on the service side, making his skillset very versatile.
Dustin was recently promoted to Service Manager and has been handling dispatching for all propane and fuel oil deliveries over eight counties.
In Dustin's free time, you will likely find him on the golf course or hanging out with friends around his smoker.
Elliot Shaffer, Shaffer’s Bottled Gas
Elliott is proud to represent the fifth-generation of a family business that began in Hooversville, Pennsylvania in 1901. Elliott attended the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown and currently is employed as Plant Manager of Shaffer’s Bottled Gas.
Elliott and his wife, Sally, live in Hooversville. Elliott enjoys working with his dad, Jeff Shaffer, and intends to emulate his father’s leadership and compassion for others.
Matt Silk Jr., Jennings Oil and Propane
Matt graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2015 and began helping out the Jennings during busy winters to supplement his woodworking job. He discovered that the trade industry was a better fit for him than office work, as he’s always been mechanically inclined, and enjoys working with his hands.
Matt began his career as an Oil Delivery Driver for Jennings Oil and is currently working his way through the propane aspect of the industry, as both a delivery driver and technician. He is eager to learn everything about the fuel business and is enjoying moving up in the company steadily. Though brief, his experience in the propane industry has been rewarding, and he’s excited to see how the industry evolves and is looking forward to his future endeavors.
Denver VanderYacht, VanderYacht Propane Inc.
Denver’s parents, Bryan and Mary, started VanderYacht Propane in 1989, and Denver grew up in the propane industry helping around the office. He graduated high school in 2012, then furthered his education at Washington State University. (Go Cougs!) When he was home in the summer, Denver would help out in the service department or drive bobtail for VanderYacht Propane until he was able to work full time in 2016. After graduating in 2017, he hit the ground running. He first started in the bobtail delivering propane, and then he was placed in a service truck. Now Denver is the Sales and Marketing Manager for VanderYacht Propane. He cannot imagine working for anyone else, he loves his job and industry, especially helping customers each day. He enjoys building relationships, ensuring they are satisfied each time he hangs up the phone, or when he leaves the customers location. Denver is proud of VanderYacht Propane’s innovative truck that has four interchangeable beds: a service bed, bobtail bed, dump bed, and a garbage bin.
In his spare time, you will see Denver spending time with his wife Miranda, his two sons Calvin (2), and Kruze (5 months), and his Labrador Stanley.
Drake VanderYacht, VanderYacht Propane Inc.
Since Drake can remember, he has always been a part of his parent’s company, VanderYahct Propane. When he was a kid, they would go up to the RV parks in the hills and read tanks during Christmas break, or drive around and pressure washing propane tanks during the summer months. Drake always knew he wanted to work for his parents, but also wanted to venture out and work for another company in order to obtain a different perspective. In 2014, he applied to work at Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island, Washington, where he was in charge of placing boats and yachts in slips as they came into the harbor. This job quickly grew into a management role where it helped him develop great communication, organization, and management skills. Drake is currently driving bobtail for VanerYacht Propane, but is learning more of the dispatching, property management, and sales side of the business. He is excited to start getting more involved and can’t wait to see what the future has to bring. Drake is proud of how well they maintain their fleet and their properties, as it shows a great deal of pride when a customer compliments on how clean their fleet is.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially his nephews Calvin and Kruze. He also enjoys fishing and boating out in the San Juan Islands.
Cooper Wilburn, Propane Resources
Cooper is part of the Consulting Department at Propane Resources. He has worked with the consulting group over five years performing business valuations, business sales, and business and market reviews. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri.
Cooper enjoys spending time at the lake and playing volleyball.
Ryan R. Wine, E.P. Wine Inc.
Ryan is the fourth-generation involved in his family owned and operated propane business, E.P. Wine Inc. His journey in the industry began in high school during his summer breaks, when he would refurbish tanks the old-fashioned way, with a scraper and paint brush.
While attending Merrimack College, Ryan juggled between helping out at E.P. Wine and playing college soccer at a high level. After graduating from Merrimack College in 2017, Ryan worked full time driving bobtail and making deliveries. He was also a crucial part of getting his company online with a website and social media pages.
Today, Ryan is much more involved with the service side of the business, learning more about propane equipment with each passing day. He is a jack of all trades within the company by being able to help out with driving, servicing equipment, customer service, and managing the company's online presence.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the gym, and playing in his men's basketball league on the weekends.
