Profile

After working 20 years in law enforcement as a city police officer and deputy sheriff, Mike Tanner retired as a Sergeant. He started his propane career in 2009 and began running a small independent propane company in Kansas. During that time, Mike completed all of his CETP training through KANPERC/PMAK. He drove a bobtail, performed service work, trained, and managed drivers and office staff. In 2016, Mike began working in the energy insurance industry as a risk engineering specialist, conducting insurance audits of propane and trucking companies across the United States. He currently assists Aegis’ team and continues to perform audits and provide on-site and virtual training. Over the last 15 years, Mike has served as a board member of the Kansas Propane Foundation, as well as Vice President, President, and, currently, Immediate Past President of the Propane Marketers Association of Kansas.
